Book of Lists: Prepare for the Future

Author: Ben Huot
Keywords: philosophy; religion; history
Language: English
Collection: opensource

Description

This book is truly a Book of Lists. There are lists of humanities (philosophy, religion, history, literature, and art) related books including classics/primary Asian sources (with order of readings of background information texts, criteria for inclusion on the list, and separate lists of just the classical books, according to topics), historical e-books (on Eastern Christian church history, major Asian religions, and Asian regional histories), Church documents (concerning the liturgy, history, and theology of the Oriental Orthodox churches, gathered from Eastern and Western Church websites), my eclectic iTunes playlists of music and audio books (including traditional Asian and African Christian, Top 40 Christian rock, Church worship music; mainstream Top 40, classic rock and country, and era based genres, like: inspirational 80s, upbeat swing, early hip hop, and music from when I grew up; and niche music genres, including: Latin, political punk, classical, regional, humor, nature sounds, and soundtrack genres) and Apple Mac (OS X) and (iOS) iPad and iPod Touch App Store recommendations, as well as lists of lists of disaster supplies. This books of lists was put together to help prepare people for the future, which will likely go in one of 2 directions, or a combination of the 2: we might lose most our technology and social structures because of our overwhelming number of major problems we face in the modern world and revert back to a civilization more like the 19th, the 13th, or even the 5th century AD; or we might find a new source of energy that will propel us into a future more like Star Trek or other Sci Fi movies than like the 20th century. Either way it is likely the study of the humanities will fade as people see technology as the solution to our problems and destroy and be out of touch with the natural world, or that we are so focused on survival that we don't have time to read or even have access to books like we do today. In between scenarios include many disasters and some very advanced technologies mixed with some very traditional ones.

Remember to read the license, before distributing. The original PDF, with no modifications, is the only one licensed, for re-distribution. Please do not offer this book, in print, or in any other file format, or make any other modifications, to the PDF file. I will take you to court, if necessary, if you don't follow the license (which is included in the first section of the PDF). Do not add my books to any online bookstore, or file sharing service, as they usually try to convert my books, to another file format, automatically.
